Unsolved Homicide

Hamilton Police continue to seek information about the homicide of Ms. Wade, who died in a deliberately set fire on Hamilton Mountain.

On October 19, 1995, at approximately 2:00 a.m., police and firefighters responded to a fire that had engulfed a residence at 25 Bryna, Unit P. Two tenants escaped, but Ms. Wade, the owner, was found dead inside.

The Ontario Fire Marshal determined the fire had been deliberately set, and Ms. Wade’s death was classified as a homicide. She was not known to police, and no motive has been established.

Anyone with information about the fire or those responsible is asked to contact Hamilton Police.

With the passage of time, someone who was previously reluctant to speak may now feel ready to come forward. Even the smallest detail could help investigators solve Ms. Wade’s murder and bring answers to her family.

You do not need to have witnessed the crime or be certain your information is significant. Something you saw, heard or remember could help investigators find answers for a family still waiting.
