Unsolved Homicide

Hamilton Police continue to seek information about the homicide of Brent Roddick.

On the morning of August 25, 1985, Brent was visiting his brother’s home on Hamilton’s east Mountain. He and two others noticed a white Lincoln Continental circling the house for approximately an hour.

Shortly after 8:00 a.m., dogs inside the home began barking at someone near the front entrance. When Brent opened the door, he was shot. He collapsed and died shortly afterward.

A neighbour saw a man, approximately six feet tall and wearing dark clothing, running toward a large car that then drove away. Investigators believe the vehicle seen circling the home was a white 1980–1983 Lincoln Continental Mark VI Signature Series.

Brent was a member of the Satan’s Choice Motorcycle Club. Investigators believe his murder was connected to conflict between rival motorcycle clubs in Hamilton, which had involved other shootings and a clubhouse bombing.

Anyone with information about the shooting, the suspect or the vehicle is asked to contact Hamilton Police.

Relationships and loyalties can change over time. Someone who once felt unable to speak may now be ready to come forward. Even the smallest detail could help investigators solve Brent’s murder and bring answers to his family.

You do not need to have witnessed the crime or be certain your information is significant. Something you saw, heard or remember could help investigators find answers for a family still waiting.
