Frank Lightheart

Hamilton Police continue to seek information about the homicide of Frank Lightheart.

On February 15, 1984, Frank returned to his Binbrook home with a friend and noticed the curtains had been moved. Believing someone was inside stealing drugs, he ran into the house. His friend heard him shout, followed by gunshots.

A second friend arrived, and both left the driveway safely. They saw a dark blue vehicle, believed to be a 1977 or 1978 model, leave the property before they went to a police station to report what had happened.

Officers attended the home and found Frank dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe Frank’s murder was connected to his involvement in the drug trade. Police have identified associates from that time and believe people may have information that could help solve the case.

Anyone with information about the shooting, the vehicle or those involved is asked to contact Hamilton Police.

Relationships and loyalties can change over time. Someone who once felt unable to speak may now be ready to come forward.

What you know could be the missing piece that helps identify who killed Frank and ends years of unanswered questions for his family.

You do not need to have witnessed the crime or be certain your information is significant. Something you saw, heard or remember could help investigators find answers for a family still waiting.
