Kathryn Dow
Hamilton Police continue to seek information about the homicide of Kathryn Dow, a retired registered nurse from Henderson Hospital and mother of a daughter who was 20 at the time.
On December 3, 2000, at approximately 6:30 a.m., police and firefighters responded to a house fire on Pinewarbler Drive, near Limeridge Mall in Hamilton. After extinguishing the fire, emergency responders found Kathryn dead in her bedroom.
Investigators determined Kathryn had been murdered before the fire was deliberately set. There was no evidence of forced entry or theft, and police believe the person responsible may have been known to her.
The investigation remains active. Anyone with information about Kathryn’s death or the fire is encouraged to contact Hamilton Police.
With the passage of time, someone who was previously reluctant to speak may now feel ready to come forward. Even the smallest detail could help investigators solve Kathryn’s murder and bring answers to her daughter and family.
You do not need to have witnessed the crime or be certain your information is significant. Something you saw, heard or remember could help investigators find answers for a family still waiting.
If you have information about an unsolved homicide, please contact Hamilton Police at homicide@hamiltonpolice.ca or call 905-546-3865.
