Marley Jordon Rowe

Hamilton Police continue to seek information about the homicide of Marley Rowe, a hardworking, good-natured young father who left behind a young son.

On January 1, 2014, at approximately 4:40 a.m., police and paramedics responded to reports of a shooting near a residence on Sherman Avenue near Barton Street in Hamilton. Between 50 and 60 people had been attending an after-hours party when Marley was shot in the rear parking lot.

Several people provided first aid before paramedics transported Marley to Hamilton General Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Marley was not known to police. Investigators believe his death may have been a case of mistaken identity, linked to retaliation for an earlier incident.

Many people left before police arrived. Investigators believe witnesses have yet to come forward and continue to appeal to anyone who attended the party or has information about the shooting.

A $50,000 reward is available for information leading to an arrest or arrests in connection with Marley’s murder.

With the passage of time, someone who was previously reluctant to speak with police may now feel ready to come forward. Your information could help identify those responsible and bring answers to Marley’s son and family.

You do not need to have witnessed the crime or be certain your information is significant. Something you saw, heard or remember could help investigators find answers for a family still waiting.
