Unsolved Homicide

Hamilton Police continue to seek information about a fatal shooting at the Jamesville housing complex, in the neighbourhood between MacNab Street North and James Street North.

On August 12, 2015, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police received several 911 calls reporting gunshots and a man on the ground. Officers located the victim with an apparent gunshot wound. He was found without vital signs when paramedics arrived.

Witnesses described a suspect running from the scene as a Black male, approximately 15 to 17 years old at the time.

Investigators have received cooperation from the victim’s friends and family but continue to appeal to anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect’s identity to come forward.

With the passage of time, someone who was previously reluctant to speak with police may now feel ready to share what they know. Even the smallest detail could help investigators find answers and bring a measure of closure to the victim’s family.

You do not need to have witnessed the crime or be certain your information is significant. Something you saw, heard or remember could help investigators find answers for a family still waiting.
